Christmas Concert
On the 2nd of December 2023, the orchestra played Nutcracker Suite, Troika, O Holy Night and Sleigh Ride to an enthusiastic and merry audience who ended the night with some carolling!
Tanglin Symphony Orchestra was honoured to play with Jonathan Charles Tay, Eunoia Junior College Choir and One Chamber Choir while their mesmerising voices touched the hearts of the audience.
Tchaikovsky Symphony 5
On the 24th of June 2023, the orchestra played Sibelius' Finlandia, Herbert's Cello Concerto No. 2 and Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 5 to the standing ovation of an enthusiastic, fiery and attentive audience!
Tanglin Symphony Orchestra was honoured to play with Loke Hoe Kit for his rendition of the cello concerto.
From the New World
On the 11th of March 2023, the orchestra brought the house down with the repertoire of Brahms' Academic Festival Overture and Grieg's Peer Gynt Suite No. 1 before ending with a bang with Dvorak's New World Symphony.
Christmas Jamming Session
Friends of existing players and members of the public joined the orchestra for a night of festivity on 1st December 2022, playing delights like The Nutcracker Suite and Troika. Drinks, food and conversations flowed afterwards!
Romantic Reprise
On the 8th of October 2022, the orchestra played Wagner's Meistersingers Overture, Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake Suite, Schubert's 'Unfinished' Symphony and Khachaturian's Adagio from Spartacus.
A Night at the Opera
On the 5th of June 2022, the orchestra played snippets from the operas of Donizetti, La Boheme, Carmen Suite No. 1 and Meditation from Thais.
The orchestra was privileged to play with singers Teng Xiang Ting, Tay Yuan Zhi Jonathan Charles and Ng Hon Wai Martin.
Dedications
On the 27th of March 2022, the orchestra played their debut concert as the Tanglin Symphony Orchestra. The concert featured Elgar's Serenade for Strings, Shostakovich's Piano Concerto No. 2 and Beethoven's Symphony No. 5.
